The Arts

Novelist and screenwriter Dan Brown, famous for The Da Vinci Code and for Angels and Demons published his first novel, Digital Fortress, in 1998. Did you know it was on the topic of the NSA (which has had it's controversies since the 80's, if not earlier.) I'm reading it now and it's blowing my mind how topical it is to today's post-Snowden headlines.

Speaking of earlier controversies, the work of James Bamford, whom New Yorker magazine describes as the NSA's "chief chronicler," has been doing investigative journalism on the NSA
since the 1982 publication of his book The Puzzle Palace
